このたびStudio Kuraに滞在中のmelissa Steckbauer による展覧会”Sacred Artists & Animal Urges”をIAFshopで開催する運びとなりました。ここに展覧会の案内ならびにお知らせを申し上げます。

Melissa Steckbauer
Drawing from her Animalia and Dressed Collections, Steckbauer’s new paintings wag a finger at the cultural representation of controlled and expressed desire. Sexual scenes are painted with a shamanic approach toward character study wherein Steckbauer neither glamorizes nor criticizes privatized behavior. With an aim toward re-membering eroticism within culture, these works offer up a challenging and wet new batch of iconography. Come hungry and sate your secret palate! Created while in residency at Studio Kura (www.studiokura.info), works will be on exhibit at IAF SHOP in Fukuoka, Japan June 27-July 6. Opening reception June 27th 19.00. ◎展覧会内容
福岡県糸島郡二丈町にある「Studio Kura」というアーティスト・イン・レジデンス施設に滞在して作品制作を行っているアメリカ人作家メリッサ・ステックバウアーの展覧会。
今回滞在制作された平面作品を数点展示。
この展覧会は「Studio Kura」を運営している松崎宏史の主催企画となっている。
